Northern Flicker

Northern Flicker: Here, you can see one of a pair of Northern Flickers eating insects. The quality of the video suffers greatly because it was shot through a window screen. Of course, the woodpeckers flew off as soon as we (quietly) opened the window.

Welcome to MaineNatureDiary's new blogging service

Whoo! We have changed blogging services several times since we first began nature blogging back in 2002. First, we were with Apple, as our host, for a simple photo sharing site. Then, from 2003-2007, Drew created and ran our website titled, "Kdoggy.com."
From 2007-2015 we were with Tumblr.
We liked Tumblr, but since it is blocked at school, we made the decision to switch to Google's "Blogger" service. Now, we can finally share our nature news with teachers, students, family and friends. Welcome! If you feel the need to see older posts, please check out the "Links" section to go to our archived "Old Version of MND" which still exists on Tumblr.
