I found a new to me species of caterpillar today: The Salt Marsh Moth caterpillar. It is in the tiger moth famiy of insects. It can live in salt marshes, but is also at home in gardens. It eats mallow, clover, among other weeds, but also feeds on crops like tomatoes and lettuce. I will have to keep a close watch on my veggie garden.
